No more /home after botched Fedora install

I did the same thing, caught it, did rsync and a diff and got a slew of 
differences. Hmmm.

I deleted everything in the backup directory, did a cp -ar to that 
directory then diff again. I got a boatload of errors like:

diff: /home/stewart/.adobe/Acrobat/7.0/Cert/curl-ca-bundle.crt: No such 
file or directory

and

File /home/stewart/.beagle/socket is a socket while file 
/snapshot/home/daily.0/stewart/.beagle/socket is a socket

and

diff: 
/home/stewart/.local/share/Trash/files/Saved_Stuff/.Trash-1000/files/stewart/.cxoffice/default/desktopdata/cxassoc/tagged_icons/cxoffice-a0416002-a2b5-44ce-ab60-9f02f0c481fa.application_vnd.rn-rn^5Fmusic^5Fpackage.xpm: 
No such file or directory

and

diff: 
/snapshot/home/daily.0/stewart/.mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so: No 
such file or directory
diff: /home/stewart/.mozilla/plugins/libnullplugin.so: No such file or 
directory

Wonder why this is?
