I'm new here (and to lists generally) so I don't really know the rules and 
traditions or the people involved. I don't want to continue the discussion if 
it's spamming the list and I seem to have unsettled a few posters. 
On the other hand, it was a fairly good talk and I thought it had some hope of 
being useful.
