Hi -- I agree that FF on Windows is better. It's a horrible state of affairs, 
but it seems inevitable given how complex the world of Linux software is.

As to the extension missing a C library ... Um... I am no expert, perhaps you 
can open the extensions source files (usually a form of javascript I think) 
in a text editor and look for the C library in question. Or try to find if FF 
keeps a log somewhere. 
The idea is to identify that C lib. After that you can see if it is on the 
machine and make links to fool the extension. 
If it's not on the machine you can try {apt-file search X} (install apt-file 
first, then apt-file update) where X is the name of the C lib. It should show 
you which packages include that lib and you at least have a way to get it.
