Hello

I would like to share an experience.
I had UBUNTU 6.04 working fine.
I "apt-get installe kubuntu-desktop" and everything was OK, except the icons
of OpenOffice; they disappeared after 2 seconds.

I installed on the same emptied (thanks to RESCUECD") 20 giga drive KUBUNTU
(from a magazine cover CD) and all was fine. Especially OpenOffice was OK.

I "apt-get install ubuntu-desktop" and got only one error: "gnome utils" did
not install; CRTL C was needed to get going again.

Now the funny part: the icons of the two upper bars of OOo disappeared after
2 seconds??????

I downloaded the alternate install CD UBUNTU 6.10, burned it to cd,
installed (using the entire drive) and the icons kept in place.

Anyone able to explain what happened.
