Kubuntu 6.10 install problems - Grub and Wireless

Hi folks!

I am trying to install Kubuntu from a live CD to an external USB drive. 
  The install process wants to install Grub on the MBR of hda and I 
would like to install it on the root directory located on the external 
drive (sda).  The installer does not give me the option to make this 
change.  Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Also, when using Kubuntu from the live CD, my laptop's wireless system 
is not activated.  I have tried to do so from the wizard without 
success.  How do i go about this?

Second wireless point - I have my router set up for WPA2, PSK, TKIP and 
I see no way of doing so from the wireless wizard.  Also I would like to 
be able to use a pass phrase to get my key.  Help please.
