Thanks, Don. This is how it worked in Fedora, and how I'd like to set
it up in Kubuntu:
1) I visit google.com in Konqueror- it opens in konqueror
2) I click on a link to google.com in Kmail- it opens in Firefox
3) I click on an html file stored on my hard drive- it opens in Kate.
Firefox is my main broswer, but I test webpage designs in Opera and
Konqi (and IE 6.0 in wine). So I want email links to open in Firefox,
but I want to be able to browse the web in Konqi should the need
arise.
I appriciate your advice of "try kcontrol" but naturally I have spent
much time trying to configre kcontrol before writing to the list.
Maybe you know better than I _what_ to change in Kcontrol? Simply
changing the file associations affects both Kmail and Konqueror.
However, I remember that Konqueror once had 'profiles'. I think that
is what I need, but I cannot find the profile configuration now.
