Kate spell checking

I found an older thread from October on this while searching google. It 
complains with, "The spelling program could not be started. Please make sure 
you have set the correct spelling program and that it is properly configured 
and in your PATH."

Apparently when I load a .php file it won't spellcheck. As soon as I toss in 
the <?php ?> stuff into the editor it will no longer spellcheck :(
