My comment on Automatix2 was simple sarcasm.

According to a good number of happy users (and now a respected magazine
publisher), Automatix appears to be just the thing to get your Ubuntu based
distro out of the gates once you've got it out of the box.

I've managed to bork my Kubuntu install quite nicely all on my own.  It's a
fragile beast when you start to tinker.  Someday it really will 'just work'
out of the box, then there'll be no need to tinker ;)  <-- note the winkie!
