Which version of kubuntu

I would go Dapper unless there is something you think you absolutely 
need from Edgy (like better dial-up modem support). Only downside is you 
will have to first install, once done install a kernel for smp-support 
if you want to get the best out of your CPU. Not difficult but a bit 
time-consuming.
