cxoffice>smb shares

I have a freesb samba server that has been running for 4 years fine, the main 
share is a database app that is fir fire department reporting. The client app 
runs on windows only. For all this time I have been running it in a VMware 
session on Kubuntu, and it works but I stiull don't like having to actually 
run the windows session, so last week I tried CXoffice again and this time 
the app runs in it! 

All functions of the app seem to work great, the only problem is I cant access 
the share? I tried mounting the share as CIFS with smb4k, still no go, the 
permissions get screwed up and the program corrupts various portions of the 
database. If I copy the db to a local directory it will work fine, but this 
won't work as there may be 2 working in various parts of the db at a time.

Anyone done this, or have any suggestions?
