Yet another kmail mystery

Well, officially gmail IS my mail service - pointerstop.ca is hosted at
gmail.

That makes all sorts of difference to my interaction with this list, but not
that I can see when I use Gmail directly through kmail.  That said, I have
to admit that I don't generally interface directly with gmail through
kmail.  I only use the direct approach if I'm having problems with either
fetchmail (which retrieves mail from gmail and puts it on a local IMAP
server) or masqmail (which runs a local SMTP server that forwards mail to
gmail SMTP).  So not seeing this problem might just be that I don't do it
enough to generate exactly the right conditions.
