Hi,
I'm just trying to help the OP disable individual screen savers. My line of 
thought was to find where they were referenced from and then edit that file. 
My second approach was to rename certain .kss files so they would not run at 
all.

I looked at the xscreensaver link and it seems to be a total replacement of 
the KDE screensaver system. Perhaps in the end that's the best way to go for 
more control.

Still, was hoping to find out how Kubuntu does it.
