New kernel headache

I should not have bragged about how easy the new kernel installed...
I was on wired ethernet and all well. Then I tried to use wireless - it 
is gone....

Or in other words, the new kernel does not detect the wireless in my laptop;
2Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection" according to 
lspci.

Back on old kernel all works well once I activated the wireless from 
bios. Weird. Don't know if it is worth the effort of fiddling with this 
or I will just hold out with existing kernel until Feisty is released.
