Feisty KDE problems

Kubuntu Feisty is now longer able to load KDE on my system. I can load
FluxBox, but KDE applications work inconsistently.

Most KDE applications give me this error:
"couldn't create slave : Cannot talk to klauncher"

Occasionally some other error will occur, usually also related to
klauncher. What should I do? What debugging information can I provide?
I've already reinstalled kde and deleted my ~/.kde to see if that was
a problem, but to no luck.
