Today's New Kernel (Saturday 10th)

Used Adept this morning to keep my system up-to-date.  Big mistake!!  Now 
the 'new' kernel (2.6.16-11)  will not permit Xorg to run.  I have reverted 
to the older kernel (2.6.17-10).  Maybe others have noted this?  The machine 
is a Athlon 1000 MHz machine ... driving a lcd screen to 1024 by 768.
