Problems Upgrading to Edgy

I have not moved from Dapper, not being overly fond of the things you have 
just experienced. 

My opinion would be:
1. If you like the challenge, have the time and want to learn a thing or two, 
then keep asking and trying and find a solution to the upgrade.
2. If you just want something to work on (that Dapper cannot offer) then 
wipegrade to Edgy. (Make sure you put your /home folder on a different 
partition to / (root) so that you can just leave /home alone and erase only 
the root partition. There are threads on the Ubu forums that help with these 
basics.)
