boot problem after recent kernel update

i just want to add:
when you are inside grub (bootmenu) you can hit 'e' select the the kernel
line the hit 'e' again.
remove the 'quit splash' at the end the hit 'enter' and 'b'.

That will boot the newly kernel in "verbose" mode and should give some more
output to start debugging.
