Oh boy, have I got an answer for you --> Konqueror!

You can also do fancy stuff in other KDE apps. For example, ftp to your server 
in Konqueror and then open a text file in Kate. Now you can edit that file 
and when you save it, it will FTP it back to the server! How cool it that.
