It's actually a compiz feature.  Compiz virtual desktop and KDE virtual
desktop is orthogonal.  That is compiz' virtual desktops are viewports,
as in one virtual desktop zoomed in.  KDE has virtual desktops (not
connected).  The pager is written to switch between virtual desktops (a
freedesktop standard), not viewports.

Not sure the kde developers care too much about fixing it, since kwin4
will have the composition features currently provided by compiz.
