Ok Cool, almost there. Just hit ctrl + alt + f2 and type: emerald.

don't type the "&" or anything else, just emerald.

Now for the windows being nailed to the wall look for "move window" in your 
compiz settings.

afterwards compiz should start correctly everytime.
