At least one half of it is Kubuntu related, isn't it?

I just tried it with Suse 9.2 and Gutsy, but it should work with Suse 9.3
and Feisty as well. For both I changed the mailbox folder in the config
file $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmailrc for this test. In the section marked
[General] the entry is now "folders=/usr/local/nils/Mail" for one
distribution and "folders=/mnt/usr/local/nils/Mail" for the other one.
Actually it was mounted via nfs (because on the Suse machine I can't
install Kubuntu), but it should work with any folder on any mounted
partition.
