I would keep ipv6 if you can and it causes no other problems.  _Eventually_
everybody's going to be forced to support ipv6.

Last time I tried it on Ubuntu, it did too.  Man, I _really_ hate avahi and
its offshoots.  My configuration is admittedly unusual, but it's pretty
common for me to be operating in a situation where I have no Internet
access but do have network programs to test (disconnected web servers on
localhost).  I have to use !@#$% Firefox to do it, because konqueror is so
certain I can't access anything... for heaven's sake, don't _assume_ I
can't reach http://localhost/ - try it!
