So I've since found out, I installed it an hour or so ago, called me, then my
daughter halfway across the country, and after I got the audio options set
correctly it worked fairly well, at some loss of HF response in my ear. OTOH,
I have 'Carhart notches' 120 db deep too, so I'm extra sensitive to such
losses. My daughter said I sounded great, and if she wasn't in such pain
from chemotherapy, she would have sounded great too.
Many thanks for the tip on gizmo, I finally have an alternative to the skype
spyware.
