Epson R300 driver for Kubuntu 6.10

Hello,
When I still was on Kubuntu 6.4 my R300 printer worked
fine. Now I have upgraded to 6.10 and I can't get my
printer to work. Nothing has changed but the OS. My printer
is the Epson R300 and is connected thru a USB cable. My
comp is a home built with Intel 2.4 ghz and 1gb ram. I have
the updates for Kubuntu installed but still no joy. Hope
someone can help me out. Thank you.
