nfs connection speed question

Until recently I was using my laptop with Feisty to transfer files to my main box
(also Feisty) using nfs. For some reason it would take more than a minute to
connect! This was also the case with Edgy and Dapper before that.

Suddenly the extra memory in my [6 year old] laptop died and I was left with just
64MB (new memory is too expensive) so I installed Feather Linux which runs quite
nicely on my meagre 64MB.

NOW when I connect to my main box (Feisty) from the laptop (Feather Linux) using
nfs (version: 1:1.0.6-3) it connect instantly!

Why does Kubuntu take ages?

My fstab entry (on the laptop):
192.168.0.xxx:/home/nigel /mnt/Home nfs noauto,rw,user,hard,intr 0 0

The above is the same as I had on my laptop using Feisty - and is the same (except
for user names and [fixed] ip addresses) as the other boxes running Kubuntu on our
home network that also take ages to connect.

Any ideas?

Blessings,

Nigel
