Before you get barraged, you may want to include what config you are
referring to.  As in paste in the kdesu or whatever other config you're
talking about.  Also, are these KDE based or GNOME based apps that are
showing the problem.  I have had problems with Gnome based apps and fonts
before in Debian, but haven't noticed them in Ubuntu since I switched over.
