Yes, it's definitely a known issue. This is exactly what happened to me,
but at the time no one had posted a solution, so I ended up installing that
machine from scratch.

So I don't know whether that solution works (and would be interested to
know if it does). Anyway, at least you now know that you weren't the only
one who had this problem.
