Recovering directory

While the "no"s you got are technically correct, there are forensics tools to 
do this.

They require at least as much additional free space as the deleted material, 
i.e. if the directory was 2 gb, you need another 2 gb or 4 gb total to do it.  
You can't have overwritten it.  The deletion must be fresh.  It is easier to 
recover small text files than large binary ones.  

The names of the programs escape me now, but I can look them up if you can't 
google them.
