I have all partitions inside a LVM (Logical Volume Manager), in order to
have the benefits from partitioning AND being able to change the size of
the partitions without too much trouble.

Appart from the /home files, there is system configuration: I make
several small modifications to the default configuration of various
packages, and I *really* don't want to repeat that in order to upgrade.
