I do not recommend just removing the /.hidden file as it will be recreated during 
kubuntu-default-settings upgrade. If you remove it, you should also make a new 
empty file, in it's place. 'sudo touch /.hidden' works. Editing the existing file is also a 
solution. Those changes will not be replaced during upgrade, as the file is considered 
a configuration file by dpkg.
