Mike,

I am not blind but I have had speech working on my system (at least in 
the past).  Unfortunately, I am about 1000 miles away from my system 
right now and can't really help you.

I have been playing around with several things recently and am not sure 
if the voice stuff is working right now or not.  I won't be re-united 
with my system until late Friday night, so if it is working on Saturday 
I can send you some information.

If I remember correctly, it requires that festival be installed and 
working on the system.  There may be something else as well, I can't 
remember.  I hope that gives you something to work with.

Does anyone know if festival is on the Live CD?
Mike, is your sound card recognized and working?
