KDE menu not updating in Dapper

Yes I have that problem. It's always fixed on a re-login, and you can
also force it to update by running (as your normal user) `kbuildsycoca`
just at a konsole bash prompt.

I'm also having problems with some applications installing their icons
into the Lost and Found menu entry!! For example, installing Komba2
puts the komba2 icon in K -> Lost and Found. Quite odd!
