ncurse is messy on vt in single mode

Hello

I tried to use an ncurse-enabled application in single mode kernel and
the display was messy: all selected items were shifted one character
to the left with a trailing display that remained when selecting
something else. With text input area it is terrible because you can't
know precisely what you are typing (and deleting)
:-(

IIRC I tried to switch to level 1 after a standard boot sequence
(where ncurse is correctly displayed on VT) and the result was the
same.

I wanted to use single mode to do a backup of my system with as few
running services as possible. Anyway a workaround is to stop all
services by hand :'-(

Any idea?
