I'm afraid to reboot. menu.lst problem. (Dapper)

I thought I was, but I wasn't paying attention. I opened the file from
Konqueror (which should have been my first clue as menu.lst has
root-only permissions).

Once I looked at the right file, it appeared just fine. I rebooted and
all was well.

I'd not consider Lilo. I've not used it in years, but I've never been
able to fix grub when it was really hosed via rescue mode (I know it can
be done, I just haven't ever been able to figure out how).
