Thanks for the tip!
I actually went with Nero, and behold: it actually works! Like a charm!
This, for me, was the better alternative (didn't want to use old kernels
and distributions).
So until this stuff gets sorted out, it's Nero for me.
Too bad, though. Really really loved K3b, and this seems a bit like
cheating ;o)
