Rather than answering your question directly (because I have never used 
outlook), let me offer an alternative that may work for you.  Stop using 
digest, and instead monitor the list as a newsgroup at gmane.com.

The list address is gmane.linux.ubuntu.user.kubuntu
The news server is news.gmane.com
