Oh, well, I've certainly removed linux_image_i686 and re-added it more than
once, so I can't be certain.

While I've decided I _do_ like to have it installed, I think if the
metapackage isn't installed by default now, we probably wouldn't want to
change the behaviour.  I expect users are pretty well split on its
usefulness.
