Try out:
kinfocenter

and have look at IO Modules (translated from german)

In kde things like that are handeled by "kio-slaves".

Have also a look at:
$ apt-cache search kio
[...]
kio-locate
kio-apt
kdebase-kio-plugins
kdepim-kio-plugins
