I worked with Tonio_ today on figuring out my Kate problem, by editing the K 
Menu entry to inlcude just the application name, I can now get different 
windows.  However still frustrated with a change to how the keyboard works, 
tried different options and on the screen I see the volume 
increasing/decreasing but nothing changes.
