Can you post you /etc/network/interfaces file? It seems that there is a
problem, which causes that network is not configured out-of-box (maybe
caused by crashing kcontrol).


I will once I have some time.  Will the same command work with the wireless?


It may - you just need to replace eth0 with your wireless interface (eth1 in
my case, it may be wlan0 or similar). iwconfig  will tell you which
interfacases have wireless.
