I've never used 2 drives, so don't know for sure, but thought that
when you have 2 drives that hda is (hd0,0) and hdb is (hd1,0). If
you're hdb has the first partition extended, then try (hd1,1) for the
Root. If that doesn't work, try other combinations (i.e. hd1,0 hd1,2
et.al.).
BTW, when the grub boot screen is up, you can select a line and hit
"e" to edit it, then after editing, hit "b" to try booting it. If it
fails it may recycle back, so this method can save some time while
trying different Root spec's.
