gdb won't read core dump

Hi,

I am developing under kubuntu using C++ (g++). I wan't to be able to analyse a core dump, but
gdb gives the following error, and bt then just prints "No stack":

This GDB was configured as "i486-linux-gnu"...core: No such file or directory.
