Hi Ron
Have you changed the default browser in KDE? To do this, go to SYSTEM SETTINGS 
> KDE COMPONENTS > DEFAULT APPLICATIONS > WEB BROWSER, tick "in the following 
browser" and in the text area, type "firefox" (you can also type the full 
path to the firefox executable, ie /usr/bin/firefox, or elsewhere if you have 
installed it somewhere else), then click APPLY
Once that is applied, firefox should open up when you click a link in any kde 
application.
