escputil - gimp-print ??

Using Dapper.

I have a nice new Epson printer installed and working properly, and I 
would like to be able to use the 'Epson tool' (under printer manager, 
configure) but I keep getting an error message saying that the escputil 
exectuble is not in my path and that I need to install 'gimp-print'.

I installed gimp-print but still I get the 'escputil is not in my path'.
I did a search for escputil but can't find it on my system.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to get the escputil exectuble 
*installed* and working?
