a most annoying difference between Ubuntu Gnome & Kubuntu

Have to admit though that at the moment I am considering doing it "the other
way around". Install Ubuntu and then run Kontact, Amarok and K3b + possibly
Kopete from Gnome. I can't stand Evolution...

Am very undecided at the moment and pondering the options and consequenses.
