can't start kde, can't start ksmserver

Blah, I fixed it rather unintelligently:
apt-get remove ksmserver (this will also remove kubuntu-desktop)
apt-get install ksmserver kubuntu-desktop

It kinda upsets me that I don't know what went wrong and if it will go wrong
again in the future.  Oh well.
