Where are all the packages?

Though I have been using Linux for a very long time I am also a n00b at
kubuntu and would like to know how to avail myself of pkgs such as...
avidemux,videodvdrip,streamripper,mplayer,realplayer, java-1.4 for
Moneydance, et.al.

They don't seem to be listed in the tool provided or perhaps I chose the
wrong tool.
