A Series of Unfortunate Problems (Xgl, 3.4->3.5 upgrade)

Okay, this leaves only Xgl.

I hear things that make me think that there's a Xgl package in the
Drapper(?) pre-release repositories of KDE. How'd I manage to *get*
Xgl? I've already searched the YaST repositories at opensuse.org,
which seems to be the home-base for the developers of the project
(well... besides freedesktop.org...)

If Drapper is the solution, then how'd I go about making the switch
from Breezy-Badger to Drapper?

oh, and if I do, this is a big thing: will I still be able to use all
(or most of, really) the apps in the universe areas of the package
repositories? I love some of the functionality provided by many of
these apps and can't imagine Linux without 'em.

Thanks for your time!
