I solved my problem by replacing LANG="en_US.UTF-8" with LANG=it_IT at euro
in the 2nd line of /etc/environment, before the section reserved to
localeconf.
I do not remember that line has been added by me. If it has been added by
the linux distribution installation program, then maybe it is something 
to be fixed.
