Upgrades

You need you have the update and security repositories enabled
matching those for main. I mean, if you have main restricted, you need
update restricted and security restricted too.

As an example, here is my /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted universe
# deb-src http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper main restricted universe

deb http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security main restricted universe
# deb-src http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security main
restricted universe

deb http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-updates main restricted universe
# deb-src http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-updates main
restricted universe

# deb http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-backports main
restricted universe multiverse
# deb-src http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-backports main
restricted universe multiverse

Security fixes will appear as updates, together with some bug fixes.
Do not expect new versions of packages though, unless you enable
backports too, and are very lucky!

HTH,
Hervé.
